From the Old World to the New: An Evening of Winds, Strings, & Piano

Russian River Chamber Music invites you to join them for an evening of winds, piano and strings. Performed by Steve Sánchez, Clarinet, Stella Shi, Piano and The Chamber Music Society of San Francisco.

San Francisco native, Steve Sanchez performs with the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera, and San Francisco Ballet. He also has recordings with the San Francisco Symphony and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Steve attended the University of Michigan where he studied with Daniel Gilbert and Professor Emeritus Fred Ormand.

Born and raised in Shanghai, China, Stella Shi started piano at a young age and went on to study at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Stella maintains a full time piano studio in Fremont, California with students placing in the United States Open Music Competition.

Founded by Natasha Makhijani, Jory Fankuchen, Clio Tilton, and Samsun van Loon in the spring of 2013, the Chamber Music Society of San Francisco was born out of a collective desire to play the great repertoire, starting with a piece dear to their hearts, Beethoven op. 132 String Quartet.
