Relish Culinary Adventures is excited to have Chef Shelly lead participants as they all make two classic types of pie dough: American (with shortening & butter) and French (with butter only). Once your dough is ready, they'll make two types of pie with both types of dough-a summer fruit pie and a cream pie-learning how when and how to prebake the crust, plus how to roll out dough, transfer to the pie tin, and pinch the edges to create an edible work of art.
At the end of the class, students will taste both kinds of pie to experience the difference in American and French crusts. Participants will take home one of each of the types of pie dough, ready to try at home in addition to all the recipes.
