This annual event is not to be missed! At a hidden Laguna location off Willowside Road, not generally open to the public, is an impressive nesting colony of Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets and Double Crested Cormorants.
Docents will lead an informative walk along the Laguna trails to the nesting site. Once there you will see courtship displays, nest building activity, adults incubating eggs, parents feeding their chicks, and possibly even chicks trying to out-compete nest-mates and prepare for their first flight. Other possible treats include sightings of American White Pelicans and Bald Eagle. You don’t have to be an avid bird watcher to know that this will be an awe-inspiring event not to be missed! Location details and further instructions will be sent upon registration.
