Sally Baker and Marsha Connell offer a unique weekend of watercolor exploration through painting soft-edged wet-in-wet forms, building images by layering marks and shapes, painting seamless transparent washes as a meditative practice, and delineating sharply focused objects. Heron Hall is a perfect base for going out and immersing in plein air painting in the verdant and flowering springtime Laguna watershed, as well as providing a comfortable and spacious light-filled studio for painting from the inspiration of nature and nature's objects. Participants of all skill levels are welcome! Beginners will receive guidance in basics. Experienced painters and repeat students will receive support to develop technique and expression.
Sally Baker and Marsha Connell both have extensive painting and teaching experience -- Sally at Healdsburg High School and Marsha at Santa Rosa Junior College. Marsha is also Artist in Residence at Pepperwood Preserve.
