Sebastopol Center for the Arts presents an April Concert. The Ambuya Marimba Band features the spirited music of the Shona people of Zimbabwe, southeastern Africa, with marimbas, gourd rattles, drums and vocals. "Ambuya" is a Shona word that means respected older woman, grandmother, wise woman. The 8 Sonoma County women have played music of Africa together for several years. For our concert, they are joined by vocalist & African musicologist Bhavani Tucker.
