Redwood Arts presents Trio Chaskinakuy in the Occidental Center for the Arts. The traditional music from the Andes is both profoundly earthbound and joyously uplifting. Andean music specialists Edmond Badoux and Francy Vidal form the duo Chaskinakuy and become a trio when Daniel Zamalloa joins them on Peruvian violin, guitar and mandolin.

Chaskinakuy's performances offer a refreshing aural and visual experience. Pipes of feather, flutes of bone, a trumpet 10 feet long, and an inverted harp evoke the sounds and images of high plateaus and rural celebrations in Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, northern Chile and Argentina.
